I’ve got a confession to make. The length of my journey is not something I’m particularly proud of, but I finally made it. Yep, you’re looking at a bonafide Swiftie now!

Now, in case you’re scratching your head wondering what on earth a “Swiftie” is, let me fill you in. Swifties are the die-hard fans of none other than the sensational Taylor Swift herself.

Once upon a time, I didn’t quite grasp what all the fuss was about. Taylor Swift’s music didn’t quite resonate with me, and I couldn’t figure out why my nieces were absolutely obsessed with her.

Then about seven years ago, I stumbled upon an intriguing fact: Taylor (or perhaps someone on her team) had this knack for stalking her fans’ social media feeds and surprising them with thoughtful gifts linked to their posts.

Watching videos online of fans receiving unexpected gifts from their favorite singer — and gifts that were personalized to them — was truly awesome.

As an entrepreneur, she had my full attention at that point.

Witnessing her business brilliance and the genuine appreciation she showed her fans, I couldn’t help but be captivated.

While my nieces were busy listening to her albums, I was diving deep into these “Easter eggs” and hints that Taylor weaved into her TV performances, song lyrics, and social media posts.

Not only had she amassed a massive following, but she had also created a community of super sleuths, all donning their metaphorical detective hats to uncover her next surprise—whether it was a new song out of the blue or a re-recording of an older album to regain control of her master tracks.

And then, I finally started listening to her music.

Is she an earth-shattering singer? Well, no, but that’s not the point.

Is she a masterful songwriter? Absolutely!

Is she a genius when it comes to business and marketing? Hell yeah!

Fast forward to last week, when my sisters, some of our nieces, and I attended her concert movie, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” Let me tell you, I transformed into a full-on, wild-eyed fan, dancing like the 10-year-old in the aisles.

It wasn’t all highs, however. There was that moment during the movie when I missed her singing “Cruel Summer” because I was held hostage by the world’s slowest bartender. I had every lyric of the bridge memorized and was ready to belt it out like a true fan (like this: check it out here)

As the concert film rolled on, more and more young girls gathered at the front of the theater, dancing in merry circles and leaping up to snap selfies with Taylor on the big screen. The impact this singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur has on people worldwide is nothing short of astonishing and inspiring.

By the end of the nearly three-hour movie, we were all left in awe of her talent, endurance, charisma, and her extraordinary ability to forge meaningful connections with her fans.

I walked out of that theater with a heart full of pure joy, something we all need in these challenging times. It also ignited a new fire within me, reminding me to be of even greater service in my work and to simply have more fun while doing it.
