Replace Resolutions with Intentions
The end of the year is upon us! I love this time as it’s a great chance to reflect and plan my stretch zone adventures for the new year.
I’m not a believer in resolutions, but instead like to set intentions and come up with ways to get out of my comfort zone. After all, too much time without risk can cause you to sleepwalk through life, and you end up dreading the turn of the year, disappointed by the same old, same old.
I’ll be doing my annual ritual of creating a vision board with what not only what I hope to manifest in the New Year, but also with how I’d like to feel in 2015. I break out the poster boards, magazines, glue sticks, and scissors, and the result is a fun, visual representation that I hang up to look at throughout the year. It keeps my intentions a daily part of my life.
Why not do one of your own? Flip through some magazines, tear out pictures and words that call to you (even if you don’t know why in the moment) and get a nice pile going. Once you’ve got a good stack, go through and weed out any clippings you don’t absolutely love, and the rest get a place of honor on your board.
Be sure to hang it up somewhere you’re likely to see it easily and often. Then next year, as you’re doing a new one, you can look at this year’s to see how the universe responded to your intentions. I bet you’ll be amazed!
Until next week, keep taking those small steps to Live Out Loud.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
