In my work, I’ve found there are two broad categories of clutter: Simple and Stubborn.
Simple is just as it sounds — easy to clear.
But stubborn clutter is all the rest — those thoughts, things, and people you no longer love, need, or use, but that you can’t seem to get yourself to empty those boxes, set those boundaries, or silence that inner critic.
That’s because your clutter has something to tell you.
Consider it a temper tantrum of the soul.
Listen closely and you can figure out what the message is in your mess. When you do, you can then use your clutter as a powerful catalyst for change in your life.
So if you are tired of feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or ashamed; if you’ve tried every system, checklist, and Pinterest strategy only for the clutter to creep back in, then read on, my friend. I got you.

You might think your clutter is tough to clear because:
1. You’re lazy,
2. You’re perpetually disorganized,
3. You don’t know where to start,
4. You can’t possibly give away gifts or heirlooms, or
5. It’s too big of a job.
Those, my friend, are merely the symptoms.
The real reasons go much deeper than that to things like:
- Your belief system,
- Your expectations, and
- Your relationships.
When you get curious instead of critical and listen to what the true needs are under the clutter, you can experience some pretty incredible transformations in your life.
Dealing with clutter needs to be a no shame game. After all, if beating yourself up worked, you’d be clutter free.

Week 1 April 20 - Learn to See Clutter in a Whole New Way
In our first week, you'll learn groundbreaking perspectives as you begin to see your clutter through a completely new lens. I’ll share unique concepts and approaches to sorting anything that’s getting in the way of you living the life of your dreams, and you'll begin to understand how your clutter communicates to you.
Week 2 April 27 - Hidden Messages within Physical Clutter
In week 2, we’ll explore the messages in some common physical clutter to help you see what insights live under the surface. Revealing the secrets of specific examples will help you think differently with your own clutter. We'll talk about common messages within piles of books, clothes, magazines, paperwork, and more. By the end of this lesson, you'll be eager to dive into your treasure trove!
Week 3 May 4 - Organizing and Unlocking
Week 3 is all about systems. We'll cover tactics and strategies to manage physical clutter from an organizational and logistical place, and how to listen for the whispers as you do. This "hands in the dirt" lesson is a great way to stir up those messages and bring them to the surface.
Week 4 May 11 - Managing Mental Clutter
In week 4, we explore emotional clutter: all those things racing around in your mind, calling for your attention. We'll cover how to manage your mind and use it as the brilliant computer it is. Learn how to get in charge of your to-do lists, wrangle the negative self-talk, partner with your resistance, and more.
Week 5 May 18 - Boundaries, Beliefs, and Blocks, Oh My!
In week 5, we explore the intricate world of boundaries and blocking beliefs. Two of the main causes of clutter, these persnickety little guys need some love and understanding, too. You'll learn how to recognize when a boundary is needed, the language and tactics needed to establish these important guidelines, and how your old conditioning is likely a clutter magnet.
Week 6 May 26 - Live Q&A
Week 6 is a Live Q&A Video session. As we wrap up the course, this is your time to ask any remaining questions and get some coaching to make sure you are set up for success.

When you work with me, it’s a no shame game. The approach I have found most successful over the past 18 years of working with thousands of people is one of curiosity and self compassion instead of criticism and blame. So not only will you finally make the progress that has eluded you, but you’ll do so from a loving and inquisitive place.
Every Wednesday at 12 PM ET/9 AM PT, we’ll gather on Zoom for that week’s lesson. After some brief hello’s and recaps, I’ll dive into the teaching of the module, followed by a brief Q&A. You needn’t be on video to attend.
During our lessons, you’ll have access to the chat feature to post your questions, share your insights, offer support to your classmates, etc.
Between lessons, the support continues in our private Facebook group.
At the end of the course, you’ll continue to have access to the module replays, workbooks, and Facebook group.
The course begins on Wednesday, April 20th and runs, weekly until Wednesday, May 25. Each live video lesson is one hour and the time to complete the corresponding exercises will vary. I suggest planning for 2-3 hours per week to devote to the course.
Because the lessons are taught live, I will be with you for the entire journey. In each lesson there is time for Q&A and some on-the-spot coaching. In addition, the support continues in our private Facebook group where you’ll find me regularly answering questions or offering insight.
Immediately after sign up, you are added to the roster of the Radical Decluttering Spring 2022 course. Shortly after registering, you will receive a welcome email outlining the course, the syllabus, and the instructions for creating your online account where you can access the course replays as they happen.
While attending live to the lessons certainly enhances the experience, you can get just as much out of the course through the replays. Because a majority of the time spent together on Zoom is me teaching, the replays will offer you the same value. Should you have any questions after watching a module, you can post them in our Facebook group where I am regularly throughout the six weeks.
I understand you may choose to not be on Facebook for a variety of reasons, including the clutter on there in terms of ads, negative posts, etc. And while it’s not a requirement for the course, should you be interested in being a part of the community, here are a couple of recommendations:
- Create an anonymous profile on Facebook. You can create an account solely for the purpose of participating in groups. You needn’t put any identifying information in there (school, work, etc) nor accept any friend requests. This profile is solely for group interaction.
- You can use a news feed eradicator extension on your web browser that replaces the news feed with an inspirational quote. That’s a nice thing to be greeted by! And then you can intentionally navigate to the group you’re in. (Simply search for “Facebook news feed eradicator + your chosen browser” for instructions).
- If you still prefer to not be on Facebook, you will still get tons out of the course as the real heart and soul happens during the weekly lessons.

Hey there! I’m Kerri and I’m a mindset coach, clutter whisperer, and author of The Wall Street Journal bestselling book What Your Clutter Is Trying to Tell You and From Clutter to Clarity.
In my life, I have done some seriously purging. I downsized from a 2,000-square-foot house to a 700-square-foot apartment to a 240-square-foot tiny house yes, like the ones you see on those TV shows).
I’ve struggled and sorted. I’ve faced the difficult decisions. I’ve processed the guilt from giving away gifts and heirlooms. I’ve set challenging boundaries.
